The Providers’ Council will host a luncheon forum on The Face of the Human Services Sector on Wednesday, Dec. 5 in Boston to discuss the findings of its latest report of the same name.
After publishing two recent reports – Beyond Social Value and Who Will Care? The Workforce Crisis in Human Services – the Council has teamed again with the University of Massachusetts Donahue Institute and UMass Dartmouth Public Policy Center for The Face of the Human Services Sector, an in-depth look at the demographics of the growing field that comprises nearly 180,000 jobs in the Commonwealth.
Report author Christina Citino, senior research manager for the Donahue Institute, will present the report’s findings. A panel featuring state officials and human services executives will discuss the report and workforce issues. Scheduled panelists include Labor and Workforce Development Sec. Rosalin Acosta, state Sen. Eric Lesser, North Suffolk Mental Health Association CEO Jackie K. Moore, and AIDS Project Worcester Executive Director Michelle Smith.
The event will take place at Suffolk University Law School, 120 Tremont St., Boston. Lunch begins at 11:30 a.m. The presentation begins at 12:15 p.m. Non-members are welcome to attend.
