This professional development workshop introduces participants to the MIGDAS-2 diagnostic interview system, a well-established assessment tool for diagnosing autism that is growing in popularity as an alternative or supplement to the ADOS-2. The MIGDAS-2 emphasizes non-pathologizing language as a framework for clinicians to think, talk, and write about the autism spectrum brain style’s profile of strengths and differences. The training teaches sensory-based interview methods to engage individuals across the lifespan and provides guidance for complex cases, including recognizing the autism spectrum brain style in girls and twice exceptional children, as well as the presentation of the autistic brain style in co-occurrence with other forms of neurodiversity such as attention, learning, and socio-emotional differences.

This session offers 6.0 Continuing Education (CE) credits for psychologists, social workers, nurses, mental health counselors, and educators.
