Operating a vehicle is sometimes problematic for older drivers, and new classes of medications and adverse interactions can affect the abilities of even the most skilled drivers. In this webinar we’ll explore the adverse effects of what providers and individuals should be aware of as the landscape of over-the-counter medications and prescription drugs grows more complicated. We will also look at Massachusetts’ self-reporting policy: If an individual has a medical condition that affects their driving, they must self-report to the RMV at the time the condition appears/occurs, regardless of license renewal period. We’ll also review older driver safety measures including the risks facing older and potentially unsafe drivers.
This session offers 1.5 CEUs for Social Work, Nursing, LADC and LMHC.
