Free, Members-Only Webinar: Stay Interviews as a Workforce Development Practice
Date and Time: June 23; 10 a.m. – 11 a.m.
Location: Online via Zoom
Intended Audience: Human Resources, Supervisors & Managers, Leadership
Learning Track: Workforce Development & Staff Engagement
Stay interviews are one of the most underused, and most human of workforce development and dialogic practices. When done well, they strengthen trust, reduce burnout, support retention, and give leaders real-time insight into what helps people stay and succeed.
This session introduces stay interviews not as a performance or HR compliance tool, but as a relational leadership practice that supports workforce stability, especially in mission-driven, behavioral health, and public service organizations.
Stay interviews are a simple, low-cost workforce development practice that helps organizations and the workforce within those organizations. This session introduces stay interviews as a practical management habit, not an HR program or performance tool, one that leaders can use immediately.
At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
– Define stay interviews through a trauma-informed and workforce sustainability lens, including how psychological safety and relational leadership support retention
– Recognize how listening-centered supervisory practices influence burnout, belonging, and workforce equity within behavioral health and public service settings
– Develop a practical plan for implementing stay interviews in supervision or team-based settings to strengthen trust, early intervention, and organizational culture
