Breaking Grounds Café Breaking Grounds is a fully functional café providing breakfast, lunch and snack items with a full espresso and tea bar located in the heart of Main Street, Peabody. Breaking Grounds is the ‘hip, fun’ spot that City Hall was seeking when the Northeast Arc responded to an RFP. The café quickly became the spot for downtown residents, business employees and commuters to visit. The flexible space has been a meeting spot for local originations and businesses, has rotating art exhibits and small product lines from local artists. The café has catered offsite continental breakfasts and lunches for groups as small as 10 and as large as 300. The second location, within the Greater Beverly YMCA, serves their customers and caters for all the meets and competitions within the Y.
Breaking Grounds answered the call by local restaurants and stores. The regional need of well trained, entry level positions in food and customer service is being met by the individuals who go through the training program, Project Perk.
