Over 200 human services workers and supporters of the sector gathered at the Holiday Inn & Suites Boston in Peabody today for the first-ever Northeast Regional Caring Force Rally.
The event is the first of a series of regional rallies being held in 2024 preceding The Caring Force’s 12th Annual State House Rally and Advocacy Day, which will be held on Wednesday, May 22 in Boston. A Southeast regional rally is scheduled for April 12 at the Clarion Hotel in Taunton and a MetroWest regional rally will be held on May 10 at the Framingham City Council building.
The event served as an opportunity for human services workers and supporters of the sector to promote pro-workforce legislation – including the Council’s bills on livable wages and a student loan repayment program for human services workers – and connect with local legislators ahead of the May 22 rally.
In addition to The Caring Force, the event was hosted by Providers’ Council members Bridgewell; Centerboard; Incompass Human Services; Justice Resource Institute; Key Program, Inc; NFI Massachusetts; Northeast Arc; Vinfen; and Wayside Youth & Family Support Network. Plummer Youth Promise was also a host organization.
