News Sector employees eligible to take courses tuition-free

The deadline to participate in one of the Providers’ Council’s most popular educational programs is coming up as the calendar nears the end of 2019.

The Council’s Tuition Remission program – which allows employees to take courses without paying tuition at state-supported public colleges and universities – is now accepting applications for spring-  semester courses through Monday, December 16. Employees taking courses are still responsible for fees and the cost of course materials. Since its inception in 2000, more than 400 organizations have participated in the program, helping more than 3,700 workers attend more than 22,000 undergraduate classes tuition-free at Massachusetts state colleges. In the 2018-2019 academic year alone, over 80 agencies – both members and non-members – used the program with nearly 320 classes taken by their staff.

A list of schools participating in the Tuition Remission program and other guidelines are available at the Providers’ Council’s website here.
