On April 8, the Providers’ Council gathered 120 of its members for its Annual Membership & Business Meeting (AMBM), which took place at the Renaissance Framingham Hotel & Conference Center.
During the AMBM, the Council reviewed the organization’s financial reports, heard from Council committees, and discussed the successes achieved by the organization and its members in 2025. The Council approved three new board members, including Ken Bates, Melissa Gonzalez, and Lisa Morgan. The Council also elected Chris White, president and CEO of Road to Responsibility as its new board chair, as Shaheer Mustafa, president and CEO of HopeWell, completed a two-year term.

Directly after the event, the Council released its latest research report, Stretched to Capacity: The Workforce Crisis in Human Services. The report covered the present state of the human services workforce in the Commonwealth, examining employment, vacancy rates, and structural factors driving the workforce crisis in the sector and how it affects persons and communities served.
Immediately after the report’s presentation, a panel of respondents took the stage to share their thoughts on the sector and its outlook. Panelists included Ken Brown, assistant secretary of employer engagement and employment outcomes, Executive Office of Labor & Workforce Development; Vanessa Henry, human resources director, NFI Massachusetts; Sen. Robyn Kennedy, chair of the Joint Committee on Children, Families and Persons with Disabilities (First Worcester District); and Jean Yang, president and CEO of Vinfen. Kathleen Jordan, president and CEO of Seven Hills Foundation, served as the moderator for the discussion.
