As human service professionals, the aftermath of COVID-19 has us being challenged like never before. During this workshop, you will assess your morale level as well as members of your work team/s. As a group, we will celebrate the new skills, habits and heroic efforts being put forth by direct support professionals and their leadership teams. We will examine new conflicts that may be keeping some staff from bringing their “best selves” to the work environment. The presenter will identify ten ways of boosting morale as well as afford participants the opportunity to add to the list. Our emphasis will be on stating positive intent in a respectful manner best-matched to the mission of the program, organization and people being supported.
Learning Objectives:
– Learn or review steps to building positive and effective work teams
– Learn three strategies that will enhance positive communication with people of different personality types.
– Create a list of at least three new morale boosters to keep staff both motivated and to reinforce their inherent value to your organization
