Date and Time: March 25; 12:00 – 3:00pm
Location: Online via Conversations for Caring Platform
Food Insecurity affects communities locally and globally in ways that are becoming increasingly apparent to health care providers. In this webinar we will discuss how food insecurity is defined and measured, and how it relates to diet quality, nutritional status, and health outcomes.
The first half will focus on our local and regional communities and the solutions that exist for addressing some of the most pressing current issues. The second half will make a connection for health providers to better understand how what’s taking place in the broader world affects what’s happening on the ground locally. We will also examine larger patterns and trends in the availability, access, and use of foods needed for a healthy diet. This webinar will further health providers’ awareness of actions that are being taken to mitigate food insecurity locally, regionally, and globally.
