Social workers supporting immigrant communities face unique challenges, including systemic barriers, discrimination, and heightened threats to safety and stability. This 90-minute group offers an opportunity to reflect on the emotional impact of this work and to experience GPS Group Peer Support as a model for healing and connection. Participants will explore ways to sustain hope and strength amid ongoing crises. In partnership with GPS Group Peer Support, to expand access to peer support and mental health resources in Massachusetts.
This session is approved for 1.5 CEUs for Social Work.
During this session, participants will:
– Explore the emotional and ethical challenges of working with immigrant communities under stress.
– Experience GPS Group Peer Support as a model for shared healing and mutual understanding.
– Develop skills to maintain hope, connection, and cultural humility in high-stress environments.
