Roman Music Therapy Services is thrilled to welcome disability rights advocate Lydia X. Z. Brown to a special team meeting for an enlightening discussion on the experiences of disabled individuals. Brown will be presenting on Zoom, and we are excited to extend the invitation to our greater community to join us virtually for this conversation.
“Disability Justice principles and practices offer radical and revolutionary ways of reimagining our relationships with ourselves, each other, and the communities where we live, work, and learn. Disability Justice offers urgent and vital interventions for addressing and ending interpersonal, systemic, structural, and institutional ableism and its impact on disabled people of color, queer and trans disabled people, and other disabled people at the margins of the margins. Centering justice and freedom — not merely rights or inclusion — takes us beyond limiting frameworks of equity, inclusion, and diversity, and challenges us to incorporate multimodality, flexibility, fluidity, and interdependence into our work.”
Please reserve tickets by December 4th.
