The Senate approved its final version of the FY ’19 state budget last week. Legislators filed amendments to create a student loan repayment program for qualified human service workers and study the salary disparity that exists between community-based human services workers and state employees doing similar work.
Advocacy from The Caring Force helped secure more than 50 co-sponsors for Rep. Jeffrey Roy’s budget amendment #1213, Loan Repayment Program for Human Services Workers, but we learned late Monday that it was not included in the House’s FY ’19 budget proposal.
The Caring Force is pleased to announce the April Member Spotlight honoree is Jennifer Polischuk, a Residence Manager at Toward Independent Living and Learning (TILL).
