The Caring Force Blog January Member Spotlight!

The Caring Force is pleased to announce the January Member Spotlight honoree is Jennifer Zuniga, a Community Care Worker at Vinfen.

Jennifer is admired at Vinfen for her work with children and the way she is able to get them out of their comfort zones to socialize, whether it be with their peers or with other community members. But Jennifer’s reputation doesn’t’t end there – she is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to finding individuals the community the resources they need such as food, furniture, clothing and transportation. And as if all that is not enough, Jennifer volunteers with kids outside of work as well.

Here’s what Jennifer had to say about working in human services:

Best professional memory: I have many professional memories. For example, I once helped a homeless, pregnant woman to get the things she needed for the new arrival of her baby and helped her connect with resources. I saw the expression on her face of gratitude and happiness. It was a very humbling experience that somehow, I helped towards her happiness.

What contributed to your decision to work in human services? (Question from Nicole St. Amand at Advocates Inc.): Helping others has always been in the core of my existence. I grew up in a family, culture and country where helping others is part of being. My family taught me that we are all connected, and it is everyone’s responsibility to give back and help others to achieve their possible full potential. So, as I became an adult, I realized that the human service field was the best field for me to help others.

Question for the next member spotlight honoree: Who has inspired you to do your best at what you do?

P.S. If you know someone who inspires clients and embodies the spirit of The Caring Force, please nominate them on our website or email Christine Batista at christine@providers.org for more information about our Spotlight program.
