The Caring Force Blog Giving thanks and sharing great news!

This Thanksgiving, we’re saying thanks to the nearly 28,000 members of the Caring Force. You not only provide critical care to one in ten Massachusetts residents, but you also advocate for fair wages, request additional funding to provide services and demand better educational benefits for our sector’s workforce.

We’re also grateful for our amazing Caring Force Captains, many of whom stopped by the Providers’ Council’s new offices in Framingham last Monday to share their feedback on 2019 and help us plan with fresh ideas for 2020. We’re going to continue to improve our advocacy efforts, and we’re looking forward to working with you over the coming year.

We’re also excited to let you know that our 2020 Caring Force Rally will be at the State House in Boston on April 16! And we just learned this week that two of our bills on our Pro-Workforce Legislative Agenda – Fair Pay for Comparable Work and Student Loan Repayment – were reported out favorably by the Joint Committee on Children, Families and Persons with Disabilities. This is an exciting development, and we’ll keep you updated after the holiday on next steps!

Thanks to you and all your hard work, the human service sector has so much to be grateful for this year! Share with us what you’re thankful for on social media by tagging us on FacebookTwitter or Instagram page when you post.

On behalf of all of us at The Caring Force, we wish you, your family and your friends a safe, restful and relaxing Thanksgiving holiday.
