The Caring Force Blog DSP Recognition Week is Here!

Today kicks off Direct Support Professionals Recognition Week in Massachusetts! This week is meant to recognize our state’s direct care workers, personal assistants, personal attendants, in-home support workers, paraprofessionals and everyone else working under the banner of DSPs. We know how hard you have been working to provide support for vulnerable populations, especially during this pandemic; Massachusetts would not run well without you!

The Governor issued a special proclamation for Direct Support Professionals Recognition Week:

The Caring Force knows that our human services workforce deserves recognition all year long. That’s why we organized our Reverse Rally earlier this year, why we publish workforce spotlights twice a month, and why we are excited to get your submissions for the Broadcast Your Love of Human Services photo contest.

Make a plan to celebrate this week and your own hard work! You could host a virtual party or get-together for your agency’s DSPs, for example. If you want some other ideas, check out the American Network of Community Options and Resources (ANCOR) website.  Share your photos and stories with us on social media, we love seeing the ways you celebrate and commemorate your work in human services! Just tag @TheCaringForce on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram.

The Caring Force also understands that thanks and recognition are no substitute for better salaries and better working conditions. We will continue to work to advocate for the material benefits that you deserve as well.

Have a wonderful Direct Support Professionals Recognition Week!
