Every spring, hundreds of Caring Force Members typically fill the Great Hall in the State House and advocate for fair funding for human service programs, adequate salaries for direct care workers, a student loan repayment program for our sector and more.
Due to the pandemic, we made the difficult decision last year to host a “Reverse Rally” instead. We asked elected officials and legislators to use their social media to thank community-based human services workers and they delivered, posting dozens of heartfelt messages and videos.
This year, The Caring Force is excited to announce a full virtual rally on Friday, May 14th. The rally will take place remotely over Zoom and include speakers from our workforce, Caring Bear Awards for two of our legislative champions and breakout rooms with legislators.
We wish we could be together in person, but we are excited see your gold shirts over Zoom! We still have big goals and plenty of excitement around our Student Loan Repayment and Fair Pay for Comparable Work bills. Last month, we asked TCF members to send messages to their legislators and you sent over 1,200 messages. Thanks to workers in our sector, we have dozens of co-sponsors on each bill – including more than 60 on our House loan repayment legislation!
We hope you will be able to join us on Friday, May 14th to rally for human services from 10 a.m. to noon! Please save the date, and we’ll share more information about registration soon.
