Peabody’s Black Box serves as an anchor of Peabody’s downtown cultural district. The James Family Stage in the Black Box provides state-of-the-art space for theater, comedy, dance, film, music, poetry and other performances.
The Black Box is much more than a theater! The versatile and flexible space, with a capacity of up to 238, can be used for a variety of events including: Anniversaries and Weddings, Baptisms and First Communions, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, Birthday Parties, Fundraising Events and Meetings.
The Black Box serves as the home to Northeast Arc’s creative performance art programming. Northeast Arc’s Improv troupes, dance programs and drumming circle use the space for rehearsals and performances. The Black Box also provides employment opportunity through facility maintenance, event hosting, ticket taking and catering services.
