News Tuition Remission program 2018-19 renewal is underway

Renewal of the Providers’ Council’s Tuition Remission program for human services providers is now underway for the 2018-19 academic year.

The Tuition Remission program, which is open to members and non-members, allows employees at human service provider organizations in Massachusetts take undergraduate courses tuition free at many state-supported schools across the Commonwealth, including community colleges and the University of Massachusetts. A list of schools that accept Tuition Remission is available here in our Employee FAQ.

There are several guidelines (found here) associated with the program. It is not a reimbursement program; eligible employees of participating organizations fill out a Certificate of Eligibility for each class they would like to take. Once the completed certificate is processed by the Providers’ Council and sent back to the organization, it is submitted to the school’s bursar office by the student in lieu of tuition for the specified class. The student is responsible for the school fees and books.

The Council is currently accepting renewal forms for the 2018-19 academic year, which includes Summer Session II 2018 (July/August), Fall 2018, Winter/Spring 2019 and Summer Session I 2019. To facilitate the renewal process, please send your completed form and payment ($50 members/$200 non-members) to the Providers’ Council no later than June 22, 2018.

If you are not currently offering your employees this Tuition Remission benefit but would like to start, click here for the registration form.
