News Providers’ Council announces fall educational calendar

The Providers’ Council has released its fall educational calendar, which includes a series of supervisory trainings and a two-day workshop on creating pathways toward race equity.

The Certificate in Supervision series will be held virtually on October 14 and 28, November 4 and 18 and December 2 and 9, and will run from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Presented by Jim Ognibene of Visioneer Consulting, Comma Williams of Comma Williams Enterprises and Ginny Maglio of Optimum Development, the sessions will cover communication and leadership, performance management, situational leadership, team building, conflict management, group planning and decision-making.

More than 600 supervisors have completed this popular series, which brings together the knowledge of experienced trainers to address the challenges that supervisors face today. Members pay $600 to access the training series and non-members pay $900.

Personal and Organizational Journey Towards Race Equity will be held virtually on September 23 and 30, and will run from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The workshop costs $140 for members and $200 for non-members.

Because the creation of a culture of equity and inclusion starts with you, hosts Barbara Holland of Advocates and Comma Williams of Comma Williams Enterprises will have you create a Personal Action Plan for developing racial equity skills and will teach you how to establish framework to create a race equity action plan for your organization.

The first workshop will have you honestly examine your values, beliefs and biases in order to help you determine your own path to a strong commitment to racial equity. The second will have you focus on your role in contributing to creating and maintaining a culture of racial equity within the workplace.

The Providers’ Council’s Success as a New Supervisor series, which will be held on September 14 and 21 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., has already sold out.

To be added to a waitlist for that series, or to sign up for other trainings, please contact Mesa Merritt at mmerritt@providers.org.
