Following the Supreme Court’s decision in Mullin v. Doe, the Trump Administration’s termination of TPS for Haiti went into effect August 5, 2026, ending work authorization for several former TPS holders.
According to the Executive Office of Labor & Workforce Development, while many employees may be able to continue to work under alternate statuses, without any alternate employment authorization, employers may need to consider placing employees on unpaid administrative leave to give them an opportunity to pursue an alternate status.
