The Council’s bill H.223, An act relative to a livable wage for human services workers, was favorably reported by the Joint Committee for Children, Families and Persons with Disabilities to the House Ways and Means Committee. The Senate version of the bill has already been sent to Senate Ways and Means after its favorable reporting.
Both the House and Senate versions of the Council’s two major legislative priorities, An act relative to a livable wage for human services workers and An act relative to a loan repayment program for human services workers, have now been reported favorably to both the respective Ways and Means Committees. The Council is currently waiting for news regarding additional hearings or if the bills will proceed to the floor for a vote.
