News Council welcomes interns for workforce, marketing projects

The Providers’ Council is hosting two interns for the summer to help with marketing and workforce development projects and to learn more about the Massachusetts community-based human services sector.

Brooke LePage of Franklin, Mass., attends Trinity College and is studying public policy and law. She is focused this summer on workforce development issues in the Massachusetts human service sector as well as outreach for The Caring Force.

Candace Reyes of Matawan, New Jersey, attends Northeastern University and is studying political science, economics and philosophy. Reyes is analyzing the Council’s online presence to recommend improvements and researching new tools and options to help with communications.

Halfway through their nine-week internship, the interns have visited with four Boston-area members, including Roxbury Youthworks, WORK Inc., Bay Cove Human Services and Morgan Memorial Goodwill Industries, learning about the diverse missions of Council members and the diverse populations they serve.

The women attended a June hearing at the State House on House Bill 4541, An act relative to community-based day support services, and also recently toured the State House. The internships are made possible by a grant from Krokidas & Bluestein LLP.
