The Providers’ Council recently announced that in celebration of Juneteenth — the commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States on June 19 — it will host a free, members-only webinar the following Tuesday on the ways organizations and individuals can celebrate the holiday through action and service.
The virtual training, titled Juneteenth In Action, take place on Tuesday, June 21 from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. and will be hosted by Shaplaie Brooks, executive director of the Massachusetts Commission on LGBTQ Youth and the owner/operator of Beyond DEI, LLC.
Attendees will learn about racial trauma and how workplaces can become trauma-informed, strategies for anti-racist organizational change and how to respond to resistance with a racial justice lens. We’ll also celebrate our own cultures, share and learn from one another to leave attendees feeling uplifted and inspired.
