News Council provides talking points for members on emergency shelter crisis

The Providers’ Council recently shared a list of talking points on the state’s emergency shelter crisis with Council members to help them convey to outside parties how the crisis is impacting the human services sector.

In addition to human services organizations that are helping to run emergency assistance shelters and provide housing to many of the 7,500 families currently in the system, the human services sector is helping in a variety of ways outlined here.

The Council is also urging the state to provide frequent and consistent communication between the state, families receiving services and human services organizations, as the human services sector remains committed to serving this important population.

The Council is interested in learning about how each of its members is impacted by the state’s shelter crisis. If you would like to share how the crisis impacts your organization and the services you’re providing to individuals and families in Massachusetts, please contact Bill Yelenak.
