News Council office is closed today in observance of Indigenous People’s Day

The Providers’ Council offices are closed today in observance of Indigenous People’s Day.

This Oct. 11, we celebrate and honor the culture, heritage and resilience of our Native American communities. 

The Boston Globe reported on Thursday that Acting Mayor of Boston Kim Janey had signed an executive order declaring every second Monday in October as Indigenous Peoples Day going forward, to recognize the land where Boston sits as the traditional homeland of the Massachusett Tribe and neighboring Wampanoag and Nipmuc tribes.
