The Providers’ Council introduced a free, members-only webinar on Monday, titled, “How to Successfully Navigate the Road to Consolidation.”
From revenue loss to increased expenses to shifts in funding, the issues nonprofits are facing in the wake of COVID-19 are numerous. In fact, survey results published in the 2020 First Edition of Commonwealth Insights showed nonprofits have experienced a revenue loss of $8.6 billion, with more than half of those responding reporting that they needed to make reductions in their workforce. To address these challenges, many nonprofits are looking towards business consolidation strategies as a means of achieving sustainability.
In this webinar, Eric Curtis of Curtis Strategy and Melissa Sampson McMorrow of Nutter McClennen & Fish LLP will explore when and why a nonprofit should consider a merger or affiliation, how to best identify potential partners, common legal and operational issues that may arise, the benefits and long-term potential of this strategy and how to successfully manage and operate a nonprofit through this type of change.
