Four Peer Provider Awards and 13 Awards of Excellence were distributed at the Council’s Annual Convention and Expo on Monday, celebrating the human services organizations and leaders for their tremendous contributions to the sector over the past year.
The Peer Provider Awards, hosted by Vanessa Welch of Boston 25 News, were presented to Community Connections, International Institute of New England, Roman Music Therapy Services and Viability.
The winners of the the 2022 Awards of Excellence were:
- Vera Marshall – Gerry Wright Direct Service Employee Award
- Mindwise – Innovator of the Year
- Rep. Brian Ashe – Legislator of the Year
- Christopher White – CEO of the Year
- Bob Renois – Gerry Wright Direct Service Employee Award
- Jordan Rich – Media Partner of the Year
- Magela Correa – Supervisor/Manager of the Year
- Sen. Adam Gomez – Legislator of the Year
- Ngozi Carol Ejindu – Volunteer of the Year
- Flossy Calderon – Ruth M. Batson Advocate of the Year
- Cheryl Bruk – Supervisor/Manager of the Year
- Judge Matthew Machera – State Employee of the Year
- Pelmeds – Business Partner of the Year
In addition, Advocates President and CEO Diane Gould received the Chair’s Award from Sandra McCroom of Children’s Services of Roxbury for her exemplary service to the Council over the past year.
