News Council elects new board officers and hosts panel discussion at Annual Membership and Business Meeting

The Providers’ Council hosted an engaging panel discussion today on Creating Career Pathways for BIPOC and Foreign-Born Staff in the Human Services Sector, following its Annual Membership and Business Meeting in the morning.

Pathways for Children President and CEO Eric Mitchell acted as moderator and sitting on the panel were Lisa Jeronymo, vice president of human resources at Open Sky Community Services; Lauren Jones, secretary of the Massachusetts Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development; Emmanuel Owusu, executive director of the African Bridge Network; Sean Rose, president and CEO of Thrive Support & Advocacy; and Kirsy Segarra, director of recruitment and internship development at the Gándara Center.

At the AMBM, held at the Verve Hotel in Natick, the Council elected its new roster of directors and officers to serve on its board through April 2025, including new board Chair Shaheer Mustafa, president and CEO of HopeWell, Inc.; thanked and recognized outgoing board Chair Sandra McCroom, president and CEO of Children’s Services of Roxbury; honored longtime Council board member Andy Pond (the former CEO of Justice Resource Institute), who is leaving the board after nearly 20 years of service; and welcomed four new members of the board: Heading Home CEO Danielle Ferrier, Thrive Support & Advocacy President and CEO Sean Rose, Citizens Inn Executive Director Carolina Trujillo and Vinfen President and CEO Jean Yang.
