News Council announces members-only webinar on how employers can access Public Service Loan Forgiveness

The Providers’ Council recently launched a members-only webinar with the Student Borrower Protection Center (SBPC) on how employers can access Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF).

The event will take place over Zoom on Thursday, Sept. 8 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Click here to sign up!

Last fall, the Department of Education announced an overhaul of the PSLF program designed to allow millions of public service workers who have been struggling under the weight of student loan debt a path to relief. In short, borrowers who were previously ineligible because they had the wrong loan, were making payments on the wrong payment plan or were knocked off track due to processing errors can now receive credit toward forgiveness for those years worked in public service.

This webinar will highlight updates to the PSLF program, provide guidance on how to navigate the new process and present an opportunity to ask questions about accessing debt relief.

The SBPC will also be hosting its own webinar, How to Access Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Relief Program, at 5 p.m. on Sept. 8 aimed toward borrowers. You can register for their event here.
