News Advance Your Career with Nonprofit Human Services Management Certificate Program

Applications are now available for the Providers’ Council’s Certificate in Nonprofit Human Service Management Program that begin this fall in Boston and Worcester. Completed applications are due May 3rd.

This year-long, graduate-level program is designed for mid-career professionals who seek to strengthen their management skills and learn in specialized, sector-specific classes with peers from other human service agencies. Offered in partnership with Clark University in Worcester and Suffolk University in Boston, more than 600 nonprofit leaders have earned the credential.

The Certificate in Nonprofit Human Service Management Program is composed of six mandatory blocks of classes that run the course of the school year. Classes begin in August/September and end in June 2020. Classes meet once a week — Wednesdays at Clark and Fridays at Suffolk — from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The program includes classes in Nonprofit Human Service Management, Financial Management, Program and Policy Evaluation, Human Resources Management, Legal & Ethical Issues for Nonprofits and Alternative Revenue Strategies for Nonprofits. The curriculum of the Certificate Program is designed to build skills and knowledge in these key areas so that students can immediately apply what they are learning in the classroom to their work in the field. The program also offers students a unique opportunity to grow their network of peers and connects them with other managers and leaders to support the sharing of ideas.

Students who successfully complete the Certificate Program at either Clark or Suffolk, and who already have a bachelor’s degree, may be eligible to transfer credits toward a graduate degree.
