Attracting and Retaining Next Generation Leaders

Providers' Council Learning Center, 100 Crossing Blvd., Suite 100, Framingham, MA 01702

The newest generation has unique ambitions and workplace priorities that need to be understood to increase retention. In this workshop, supervisors will learn a step-by-step career coaching process they can begin using right away. We will look at the relationship between job requirements and job competencies, and the distinction between current and transferable skills. These elements become part of the coaching conversation led by the supervisor that will enable employees to set a vision and development path towards their next position. This process does not promise a promotion or a lateral move, but rather it works towards an employee-designed career development plan created with supervisor guidance.

This training will take place from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11 at the Providers’ Council in Framingham.

In this session you will:

  • Learn basic employee coaching skills;
  • Learn and practice a specific, supervisor-led step-by-step coaching process; and
  • Describe and define how the knowledge and understanding of job descriptions, job requirements, professional competencies and transferable skills can be used to create a career development plan
