Conducting Effective Internal Investigations

Join experienced employment and labor attorney Ed Mitnick for an intensive, one-day interactive training session designed to provide you with a thorough grounding in conducting workplace investigations. This training regularly sells out, so reserve your spot today!

Participants will learn how to effectively initiate and conduct internal workplace investigations into policy violations, including complaints of discriminatory harassment, retaliation, unprofessional conduct, workplace bullying and violence. While particularly relevant for human resources and legal staff, supervisors in all departments can benefit from the information and techniques presented in this training. Participants will conduct an investigation and receive individual feedback from the instructor.

This training will take place from 9 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 9th, 2020.

In this training, you will explore how to:

  • Identify possible complaints relating to policy violations;
  • Effectively respond to and communicate initial stages of investigation to complainants and witnesses;
  • Conduct effective witness interviews – get to the truth with any witness;
  • Learn how to take notes and draft and organize the final written investigation report; and
  • Determine how best to communicate findings to leadership and witnesses.

About Ed

Ed Mitnick is an experienced employment and labor attorney specializing in the areas of employment litigation, labor relations, legal training and alternative dispute resolution. In addition to his work with Brodeur-McGan, P.C., Ed has his own consulting firm, Just Training Solutions, LLC, in which he provides effective employment training, consulting, and investigative services to employers throughout the United States. Previously, Ed served as a Hearing Officer for the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination (MCAD). Consequently, he is very familiar with recent legal developments in the area of employment law. Ed has provided training workshops to employers throughout the U.S.; litigated complex cases in the federal and state courts; and represented employers in numerous labor and employment matters including negotiations, arbitrations, and mediations.
