The Providers’ Council and Suffolk University will host a second info session about the Certificate in Nonprofit Human Service Management Program on April 25 from noon to 12:30 p.m.

The Providers’ Council testified at three hearings today regarding Chapter 257 rate adjustments for Family Transitional Support Services, Certain Substance-related and Addictive Disorders Programs and Certain In-home Basic Living Supports.

This session will show participants how they can incorporate the therapeutic use of nature into work with any population to help create connections, provide meaningful engagement and improve wellbeing.

More than 600 supervisors have completed this series, which brings together the knowledge of experienced trainers to address the challenges that supervisors face today.

The Providers’ Council testified at three hearings today regarding Chapter 257 rate adjustments for Certain Adult Community Mental Health Services, Competitive Integrated Employment Services and Certain Young Parent Support Programs

To be eligible for the program, applicants must have a supervisor recommendation and a bachelor’s degree or relevant prior work experience. Admission to the program is contingent upon approval by the university partner and the Providers’ Council.

Providers’ Council President and CEO Michael Weekes and Advocates President and CEO Diane Gould were recently appointed to the state’s Human Services Workforce Board by Senate President Karen Spilka.

This session, presented by Jim Ognibene of Visioneer Consulting, will help newly emerging leaders define their niche in human services with definitive, practical action steps they can take right away. Course content presents recent 2021 Center for Creative Leadership research of 10,386 emerging leaders worldwide and what they want and need to succeed.

The Joint Committee on Children, Families and Persons with Disabilities earlier this week reported the Providers’ Council’s Fair Pay for Comparable Work and Student Loan Repayment legislation out of committee favorably, a significant step in securing additional funding for human services programs and workers. The bills have been referred to the Senate committee on Ways and Means.

For the fourth renewal in a row, the Providers’ Council, in partnership with USI Insurance Services, recently negotiated a two-year rate hold for Delta Dental participants with no rate increase. The rates will be in effect through March 31, 2024.
