Date and Time: February 11; 3:00-4:30 p.m.
Location: Online via Zoom
Intended Audience: Executive Leadership and Board Members
Join the first session of the Council’s Board Series, focused on building the most effective board to ensure success and prosperity at your organization!
In today’s dynamic nonprofit environment, effective board recruitment is critical to achieving organizational success. This workshop is designed to empower executive leaders, board leaders and CEOs with the tools, strategies, and frameworks necessary to build a robust, intentional, and aligned board recruitment program. Understanding that almost every organizational initiative can be impacted by the board in some way, the process of training the board is closely related to who is on the board and how the board shows up. Organizational success often starts and ends with the board.
Rooted in the principles of our 10 Steps to Creating a Board Development and Recruitment Program, we will delve into practical reality-based strategies and practices such as:
– Establishing a recruitment framework;
– Defining the perfect board member;
– Timelining recruitment;
– Board member roles in recruitment;
– Hosting effective individual as well as group/mass recruitment meetings; and more.
These concepts are paramount in making sure that every board seat is filled by individuals whose skills, passion, and commitment align with the mission and strategic goals of the organization.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
– Understand the key components of a board recruitment framework;
– Identify and define the ideal board member profile;
– Engage their board in the recruitment process; and
– Designing and conduct effective recruitment meetings for their organizations.
