The Providers’ Council presented four academic scholarships to member employees on October 7th during its 44th Annual Convention & Expo: Everyone Counts.
Thara Young, an assistant program director with Cambridge Family & Children’s Service, is the recipient of the $10,000 Providers’ Council Graduate Leadership Award. Young is currently pursuing her Master of Social Work at Boston University.
This year, the Council presented three $4,000 awards to individuals who have completed its yearlong Certificate in Nonprofit Human Services Management Program at either Suffolk University in Boston or Clark University in Worcester.
Providers’ Council and Suffolk University $4,000 MPA Awards were granted to Christina Hope, a program coordinator at Gregg Neighborhood House, and Madeline Eleazar, an HR generalist at Action for Boston Community Development Inc. (ABCD). Both women are in the Master of Public Administration Program at Suffolk.
Katie Robery, the assistant director of operations for Brockton Area Multi-Services, Inc. (BAMSI), was awarded the Providers’ Council and Clark University $4,000 MPA Scholarship. She is in the MPA program at Clark.
The recipients were selected by the Council’s Scholarship Committee, which includes Chair Joe Leavey, President and Founder, Communities for People; Sandy Matava, Director, Moakley Center for Public Management at Suffolk University; Michelle Smith, Executive Director, AIDS Project Worcester; and Susan Wayne, Principal, Wayne Associates.
