We did it again!
More than 500 members of The Caring Force filled the State House last week for our Sixth Annual Caring Force Rally and Lobby Day in support of our Pro-Workforce Legislative Agenda. We couldn’t believe how many people we were able to squeeze into the Great Hall and the surrounding areas.
Whether you attended in person; urged your legislator to support loan repayment, affordable health insurance and fair pay; or simply shared our #CaringForceRally hashtag on social media, thank you for helping to strengthen the human services sector!
Caring Force members represented all areas of the Commonwealth, from Cape Cod to the Berkshires. Together we turned the State House into a sea of gold to show support for the community-based human services sector and asked our legislators to support legislation that would strengthen our workforce.
At this year’s rally, we heard from three powerful speakers who represent the many faces of the sector: Thank you to Tim Regan of Vinfen, Melanie Verduchi of HMEA and Pamela McKillop of Advocates for sharing their powerful stories with us. We also we honored two longtime legislative champions with the Caring Bear Award – House Speaker Robert DeLeo and Senator Linda Dorcena Forry.
We definitely made our presence known in the State House! Walking through the building after the event, we saw so many members visiting almost every legislative office. These acts show your dedication and passion for our workforce and the sector.
