Scholarship applications for 2025-2026 are now available!

To support its ongoing objective of promoting and developing the human services sector’s workforce, the Council offers the Providers’ Council Graduate Scholarship, Foreign-Born Leader Scholarship, Matava and Weekes Scholarships in partnership with Suffolk University (formerly titled Master of Public Administration Scholarships) and Collegiate Scholarships. 

The deadline to apply for a scholarship is August 1, 2025.

Providers’ Council Graduate Leadership Scholarship

About the Scholarship

The Providers’ Council Graduate Scholarship was created to support the Council’s ongoing objective of promoting and developing the human services sector’s workforce. This scholarship is a one-time award of $10,000 for a Council member employee who is entering or is currently enrolled in a Massachusetts-based, Master’s degree program.

Providers’ Council and Suffolk University Matava and Weekes Scholarships

(Formerly titled the Master of Public Administration Scholarships)

About the Scholarships

The Providers’ Council, in partnership with Suffolk University will offer a scholarship exclusively available to graduates of the Certificate in Nonprofit Human Service Management program. These scholarships will grant two Suffolk University students a $5,000 award each, towards tuition for the Master of Public Administration program.

This scholarship has been re-titled to honor and remember the partnership of former President and CEO of the Providers’ Council, Michael Weekes, and Suffolk University’s former director of the Moakley Center, Sandy Matava.

Providers’ Council Foreign-Born Leader Scholarship

About the Scholarship

The Providers’ Council is pleased to announce it is now accepting applications for its Foreign-Born Leader Scholarship. The scholarship seeks to support one dedicated human services employee with $5,000 towards their graduate education.

The scholarship is a one-time award for a foreign-born Council member employee who is entering or is currently enrolled in a master’s or doctoral degree program in Massachusetts. Most accredited master’s programs are eligible, provided the applicant demonstrates in their personal statement how the program is clearly related to their future contributions to the human services sector.

Providers’ Council Collegiate Scholarships

About the Scholarships

In celebration of its 50th anniversary, the Providers’ Council is pleased to award five Collegiate Scholarships to further its mission to develop the human services sector’s leadership and workforce.

This one-time award of $5,000 will be awarded to five Council member employees who are entering or currently enrolled in either an undergraduate or graduate degree program. Most accredited bachelor’s and master’s programs are eligible, provided the applicant demonstrates in their personal statement how the program is clearly related to their future contributions to the human services sector.
