The Massachusetts Office of the Attorney General has issued guidance and created a new website and webinar series to help employers comply with the state’s amended Equal Pay Act that goes into effect on July 1, 2018.
According to a press release from AG Maura Healey, the Massachusetts Equal Pay Act “provides greater clarity as to what constitutes gender-based wage discrimination, adds new protections for workers, and incentivizes employers to address gender-based pay disparities.”
Released March 1 in an effort to ensure employers have ample time to prepare for and comply with the new law when it goes into effect, the new guidance (found here) includes detailed information on a dedicated website. The online resources include a pay calculation tool and a step-by-step guide for employers that choose to conduct a self-evaluation.
The AG’s Office will also be partnering with business associations and others on a series of webinars and events to provide employers of all sizes with the chance to ask questions about the new law, the press release said. Click here for more information.Back to All News
