This past week The Council celebrated National DSP Week, which ran from September 8th through the 14th. The sector saw a lot of great posts showcasing the incredible work DSPs do from several of the Council’s members.
Direct Support Professionals play a vital role in the human services sector by supporting persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities. They help foster an environment of independence for the people they serve.
However, DSPs often struggle to earn a living wage. Supporting initiatives that aim to boost wages for human services workers is one way to help improve the lives of DSPs.
Thank you to all the incredible DSP workers that have made such a difference in the sector. For more information on how the Council is supporting DSPs, please visit our Public Policy page.
