News Four human services workers receive $20K in educational scholarships at Council’s Annual Convention & Expo

Four leaders of the community-based human services sector were honored at the close of the Providers’ Council’s 48th Annual Convention & Expo: Advocate | Act | Achieve today, receiving educational scholarships totaling $20,000 from the Council to further their education at local colleges:

  • Sofya Fedder of Action for Boston Community Development (ABCD) was the third ever recipient of the $2,000 Foreign-Born Leader Scholarship;
  • Paul Gilbert of Lifeworks and LaWan Swain of WORK, Inc. were awarded two Master of Public Administration (MPA) scholarships of $4,000 each, given in partnership with Suffolk University; and
  • Micaurys Guzman of Casa Esperanza was awarded the Graduate Leadership $10,000 scholarship for an employee entering or currently enrolled in a master’s degree program in Massachusetts.
