Three months after Gov. Maura Healey introduced a $4 billion housing bond bill – The Affordable Homes Act – to boost affordable housing availability in Massachusetts, the Joint Committee on Housing will hold a hearing on the bill on Thursday, January 18 and the Providers’ Council will submit testimony in support of it.
The comprehensive bill represents the largest housing investment in Massachusetts history, the initiatives of which will fund or enable the creation of more than 40,000 homes that otherwise would not be built, including 22,000 new homes for low-income households.
More information on the bill can be found here.
If members of your organization would like to testify at the hearing, please email Stefan Geller for information on how to do so.
