Success as a New Supervisor Winter 2020: Now Online

Strong leaders are needed to take initiative, think strategically, empower others and set and carry out a vision. The supervisor, in particular, plays a key role in the success of any organization. Attendees will explore and define many of the competencies required of those who serve in the role of supervisor. This training is for both current and newly promoted supervisors, but also helpful to those who are considering a supervisory position.

This two-session training will take place online via Zoom on Tuesday, March 17 and Tuesday, March 31 from 10 a.m. – noon. After registering, you’ll receive the joining details for the session.

In this session, you will:

  • Learn what skills are required of today’s leaders;
  • Learn how leadership is different from management;
  • Practice the core skills needed for new supervisors; and
  • Understand how to increase staff engagement and competence.

Accelerated Learning Component:
The time period between the two sessions will provide an excellent opportunity to practice new knowledge and skills.  Each participant will create a “thought and action” plan at the end of the first session, listing practices and techniques they want to implement right away. At the beginning of the second session, participants are invited to share the steps taken towards implementation of the new techniques.
