Violence is the language of the unheard.” MLK, Jr.

“We at Communities for People are appalled by the death of George Floyd, and the many others, at the hands of those sworn to protect and serve.

Black lives matter. Bigotry, ignorance and senseless violence in any and all forms is immoral and just plain wrong. Our country will not- can not, heal until we eliminate the racial disparities that have persisted for African Americans for four hundred years, and for far too long for many other ethnic minorities.

No one should live with the fear and perpetual injustice faced daily by communities of color.Communities for People has always stood for treating each person with respect and dignity and we are committed to doing our part to make this a world of racial justice, equality, equity, and fairness.

Another of MLK, Jr.’s famous quotes is: “The moral arc of the universe is long but it bends towards justice.” We will continue to work diligently towards that end.

Sincerely,

Joe Leavey, CEO
