The Providers’ Council last week signed onto a letter from the Statewide Personal Assistance Coalition to Gov. Healey, urging her administration to accept House and Senate language in the final FY ’25 budget that prevents cuts to personal care attendant (PCA) services.
“As you are aware, significant concern surfaced regarding the proposal to reduce eligibility and services for the state’s personal care attendant program,” the letter reads. “An estimated 6,000 consumers would lose services and 4,000 PCAs would lose work under the proposal. Both the House and Senate responded by including language in their budgets to prevent changes to the program, recognizing the risks to health and wellbeing the changes would produce.”
