News Council hosts call with EOHLC to clarify legal questions for EA Family Shelter providers

The Providers’ Council hosted a call today with Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities (EOHLC) Secretary Ed Augustus and his staff, giving Council members who provide Emergency Assistance Family Shelter services the opportunity to get clarifying answers to legal questions related to the recent passing of the shelter stay limitations bill.

Augustus and EOHLC addressed providers’ questions, and they noted that EOHLC will continue to pay providers their unit rate occupancy costs while terminations progress through the legal process so long as providers are taking appropriate steps towards completing the termination. Providers were also able to ask questions regarding EOHLC’s work with housing courts as well as possible changes to the extension document. Providers and the Council thanked EOHLC for its time and attention to the issues, and the Council will follow up about a quarterly meeting for its members with EOHLC.
