Four leaders of the community-based human services sector were honored at the close of the Providers’ Council’s 47th Annual Convention & Expo: Celebrate Our Strength on Oct. 3, receiving educational scholarships totaling $20,000 from the Council to further their education at local colleges:
- Amogechukwu Owens of the Edinburg Center was the second ever recipient of the $2,000 Foreign-Born Leader Scholarship;
- James Olsen and Katherine Driscoll of BAMSI were awarded two Master of Public Administration (MPA) scholarships of $4,000 each, given in partnership with Suffolk University; and
- Gabriel Gbidye of Bay Cove Human Services was awarded the Graduate Leadership $10,000 scholarship for an employee entering or currently enrolled in a master’s degree program in Massachusetts.
