On Dec. 17, EOHHS published new guidance for surveillance testing in congregate care programs.
This guidance contains significant changes regarding how testing will be accesses by providers, and replaces guidance issued Nov. 2, 2020.
The new guidance makes several changes to surveillance testing; the largest is that the state is setting up two new testing programs for providers after December 31, 2020.
Providers must enroll to receive PCR tests from Color Genomics or rapid point-of-care tests from Abbott BinaxNOW.
More details are included in the guidance.
PLEASE NOTE: The state is allowing for a limited, conditional extension through January 20, 2021 of the reimbursement contracts for testing that are currently in place. But to be eligible, you must enroll in either Color or BinaxNOW testing by January 6, 2021. No reimbursements for other tests will be given for tests administered after January 20, 2021.
