SUMMARY:Provider Member Hosted Webinar: When the Walls Come Crumbling Down - Why Self Care Matters to You and Your Clients
DESCRIPTION:Date and Time: November 19; 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. \nLocation: Online via Zoom \n**Please note this webinar is hosted by Conversations for Caring. Any questions regarding the session should be directed to lbulkley@glss.net. \nHealthcare Providers are sometimes the last to recognize their own need for care\, often because of exhaustion\, lack of time\, and the demanding commitment to serving others. After experiencing burnout and being diagnosed with a chronic illness\, presenter Cari Ryding realized she needed to take better care of herself but at the same time remaining authentic to her practice. In learning to apply self-care principles on herself\, she emerged with a clearer understanding of how to move forward from a position of strength. \nIn this webinar\, Cari will lean on her years of caregiving and nursing leadership experience to have a deep and honest conversation about the challenges of self-care in our culture. She will identify a specific difficulty for providers and caregivers that blocks self-care and will address a comprehensive model for self-care that opens the door to releasing suffering and creating a deeper understanding of oneself. \nThis webinar is approved for 1.5 CEUs for NASW\, LICSW\, LDAC\, LMHC and Nursing. \nRegister Here! \n  \nPresented by: \nCari Ryding RN\, MSN\, OCN\, NC-BC\, Certified Professional Nurse Coach \n  \nCost: \n$25 \nMulti-seat discounts available \n

SUMMARY:Free\, Members-Only Webinar: Does Mentorship = Leadership?
DESCRIPTION:Date and Time: January 29; 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. \nLocation: Online via Zoom \nIntended Audience: Human Resources\, Supervisors & Managers\, Emerging & Established Leaders\, Staff interested in mentorship \nLearning Tracks: Leadership & Organizational Development\, Workforce Development & Staff Engagement \nJoin us to celebrate National Mentoring Month! \nThis facilitated conversation with Roman Music Therapy Services will focus on the impact of relationship-building on leadership growth. Some of the most transformative inflection points in a leader’s journey can be spurred on by a single conversation or traced back to one meaningful connection. What we traditionally call “mentorship” can take many forms – grabbing a coffee with a peer\, sitting down for a weekly check-in with a supervisor\, or even an informal water-cooler chat about future plans. Throughout our lives\, we are all mentors and mentees – often at the same time! \nIn this session\, Roman Music Therapy Services encourages attendees to reflect on the formal or informal “mentorship” relationships that helped drive them forward. Attendees will discuss how to maximize these connections when they arise\, and will consider their power as everyday leaders who can drive change for others. \nRegister Here! \n  \nPresented by: \nJennifer Ray\, Chief Operating Officer\, Roman Music Therapy Services \nMichaela Di Palmo\, MHA\, MT-BC\, Board Certified Music Therapist\, Roman Music Therapy Services \n  \nCost: \nFree for members \n  \nConfirmation Policy: We only send confirmations via email. SUMMARY:Provider Member Training: Strategies for Supporting Youth after a Caregiver’s Overdose
DESCRIPTION:Date and Time: February 12; 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. \nLocation: Virtual \n**Please note this session is hosted by Bridgewell’s Center for Professional Development. Any questions regarding the session should be directed to kjanjar@bridgewell.org. \nWhile both fatal and nonfatal overdoses have begun to decline in the past few years\, the numbers of overdoses in the US are still in the many hundreds of thousands each year. Many people who witness or experience the fallout of an overdose\, whether fatal or non-fatal\, report experiencing the event as traumatic. This can be especially true for young people who often do not understand what is happening or why. \nWhen children and youth do not have adequate support in the aftermath of a potentially traumatic event they often internalize the experience in unhealthy and potentially harmful ways. Using case studies and interactive discussions\, this training will provide a foundation for understanding addiction and overdose and ways that children and youth often experience and respond to potentially traumatic events and grief. \nIt will introduce strategies for talking to and supporting young people and helping their caregivers with supporting them\, both in the immediate aftermath of a caregiver overdose and longer term. Participants will be given opportunities to practice some of the strategies. The training will emphasize the importance of self and community care for providers doing this work. \nRegister Here! \n  \nAt the conclusion of this training\, participants should be able to: \n– Identify risk factors\, protective factors and warning signs for substance use disorders \n– Describe the scope of fatal and nonfatal overdoses in the US \n– Name three potential ways that the impact of a caregiver overdose could show up for and impact a child \n– Differentiate between indicators that a child is experiencing grief versus trauma \n– Demonstrate different ways to support youth both in the immediate aftermath of a caregiver overdose and longer term \n  \nPresented by: \nJoanna Bridger\, LICSW\, Director\, Safety\, Hope\, & Healing Counseling & Consulting \n  \nCost: \n$79 \n**Mass State Employees may attend this training for free

SUMMARY:Free Webinar: Let's Illuminate Human Services - Understanding the Solar Upgrading Nonprofits (SUN) Program😎
DESCRIPTION:Date and Time: February 26; 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. \nLocation: Online via Zoom \nIntended Audience: Financial Staff\, Facilities/Operations\, Executive Teams \nLearning Track: Finance & Sustainability \nThe SUN Program is back!☀️ \nIn 2025\, the Solar Upgrading Nonprofits (SUN) Program\, a partnership between the Providers’ Council and Resonant Energy\, helped 18 human service providers explore solar through no-cost feasibility assessments and grant funding. Organizations moving forward with solar will save 70 to 100 percent of their annual electricity costs for a total of $10 million dollars in expected lifetime savings. \nThe SUN program supports nonprofit human service providers across Massachusetts as they explore solar as a means of reducing their operating costs and contributing to a clean environment for their constituents. Many organizations have expressed strong interest in solar but lack the internal capacity and expertise to pursue feasibility assessments and projects. This program bridges that gap by providing organizations free solar feasibility analyses\, grant writing assistance\, and stipends to cover staff-time invested in this process. \nRegister for this session at the link below to hear from the team at Resonant Energy about the impact and scope of the program. We will also be joined by WORK\, Inc\, who will share their experience of participating in the SUN Program in 2025 and the impact it has had on the agency.  \nYou can apply for the SUN Program here. \nOrganizations are encouraged to apply early for the SUN program in order to ensure they can capture the federal incentives for solar before they are phased out. \nRegister Here! \n  \nAt the end of this session\, participants will understand: \n– The benefits of going solar and the financing options available to your organization \n– What you need to get started on a solar feasibility analysis for your building \n– How to apply for this unique program and get paid to explore solar \n  \nPresented by: \nMadeleine Barr\, Chief Growth & Impact Officer\, Resonant Energy \nRachel Gentile\, Marketing & Communications Manager\, Resonant Energy \nSanne Wright\, Community Partnerships Manager\, Resonant Energy \nBill Furness\, VP of Facilities Services\, WORK Inc. \n  \nCost: \nFree \n  \nConfirmation Policy: We only send confirmations via email. Please email Nina Lamarre at nlamarre@providers.org if you do not receive a confirmation email. \n\nAccommodation Policy: We will do our best to accommodate individuals needing services. Requests for accommodations need to be made at least 14 days prior to the scheduled webinar\, workshop or training event. Please indicate the specific type of service being requested.
