Beyond Team Building: Cultivating Community in your Workplace

Black Box Theater, 22 Foster St. Peabody, MA 01960

For many employees, the workplace is the primary community. Today’s employees want to work for organizations that not only provide professional and personal development, but also foster a positive climate and a sense of community. This workshop will focus on understanding how communities develop, identifying ways to increase social capital within and across divisions within your organization, and using creative expression through music to increase trust and reciprocity in the workplace.

This training takes place from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 13th in Peabody at Black Box Theater.

During this training, participants will:

  • Identify and give examples of the five stages of community development;
  • Be able to articulate definitions of social capital and the differences between bonding and bridging social capital;
  • Engage in a variety of music therapy experiences that foster community development; and
  • Create an action plan that integrates the ideas of developing community and increasing social capital in the workplace.

Presented by:

  • Meredith Roman Pizzi, MPA, MT-BC, Roman Music Therapy Services
